It's been a bugbear among folk living in Renfrewshire ever since it opened over two decades ago back in 1999 on the site of the former Braehead Power Station in Renfrew on the south bank of the River Clyde.
The fact that Braehead Shopping Centre has branded itself over the years as being located in Glasgow when in fact it is actually in Renfrewshire.
That's because the boundary line for the local authority extends to King's Inch Drive, meaning that when Glaswegians head their for their shopping or to visit XSite Braehead they actually leave the city boundary as they pass Shiedhall and King George V Dock.
However, the pedants out there who have taken to calling out people - and Glasgow Live - on occasion have a reason to celebrate of sorts on the basis that it seems that Braehead has finally 'admitted' to the fact that it isn't in Glasgow....well partly that is.
That's after one eagle-eyed local (or shopper) noticed that XSite Braehead, as part of a rebrand, have updated the location listed on their website as "Kings Inch Road, Braehead, Renfrewshire, PA4 8XQ".
They took to Twitter following the 'discovery' to tweet: "Braehead is no longer in Glasgow. We have won it back!"
Unfortunately however it seems intu Braehead haven't got the memo just yet, with their website still listing their location as "King's Inch Road, Renfrew, Glasgow".
Let's not forget that ice hockey team Braehead Clan changed their name to Glasgow Clan back in 2018.
That isn't lost on us!
