Renfrewshire councillor in court accused of making threats

A Renfrewshire councillor has appeared in court accused of threatening and abusive behaviour.

Scottish Conservative and Unionist politician, Jane Strang, appeared at Paisley’s Justice of the Peace Court and denied the charges against
her.

Ms Strang, of Anchor Avenue, Paisley, is accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in Windsor Road, in Renfrew, on August 2 last year.

Strang, 57, is said to have shouted, swore, uttered threats and behaved in an aggressive manner on the street.

The Renfrew North and Braehead councillor will return to court for a trial next month.
