A heartless carer with anger issues has been slammed by a sheriff after she repeatedly slapped an elderly woman before telling her to “f*****g shut it.”
Bully Claire Drynan was in a “position of absolute trust” when she subjected the vulnerable 73-year-old to the ordeal while she was supposed to be looking after her.
The sickening attack was only exposed when a concerned colleague overheard shouting and recorded the incident on her mobile phone.
At Paisley Sheriff Court, Sheriff Gillian Craig slammed the behaviour of Drynan, who was employed as a carer for one of society’s “most vulnerable groups” and ordered the 53 year old to pay compensation to her elderly victim.
The court previously heard that Drynan - who had been a carer for 13 years at the time of the sickening attack - was only snared when a colleague turned up at the elderly woman’s address but couldn’t get access to the building.

Procurator fiscal depute Ian Mathieson explained: “The witness heard shouting from within the property and took out her mobile phone and started to record the sounds coming from within the property.
“Voices could be heard and phrases such as, ‘Head up, lean forward, arms up, get your arms up, other side, arms in’
“Various slapping sounds could also be heard and phrases such as ‘F*****g shut it’ and ‘What you f*****g doing?’ and ‘Sit and do the toilet.’
“The witness stopped recording at that point and tried to gain entry by hammering at the door.
“The door was answered by the accused and the witness took over the caring responsibilities.”

Several hours later, the stunned colleague reported what she’d seen and contacted her manager about the attack.
Mr Mathieson added: “An internal investigation was carried out and Drynan was suspended.
“Police were contacted and they conducted enquiries.”
Kevin Brady, acting for original defence agent Mr Dunbarr, said Drynan, of Glenpark Road in Lochwinnoch, had been suffering sleep deprivation at the time of the incident.
Due to this being her first offence, he asked the court to admonish Drynan.
Mr Brady said the background report carried out on Drynan’s behalf revealed how she can have “outbursts of anger.”
Mr Dunbar previously told how Drynan was suffering “health difficulties” at the time of the incident.
But Sheriff Gillian Craig was disgusted by Drynan’s awful behaviour and ordered her to pay £350 to the elderly victim, saying: “You were a carer in a position of absolute trust.
“You were a carer for one of the most vulnerable groups in our society.
“This woman was in your care and at your mercy.
“Your psychologist states that due to your mental health issues you can’t understand the wrongfulness of your actions.
“It was down to you to advise your employers of your mental state and take a step back from your responsibility in caring for others but you did not.
“If you are prone to outbursts of anger you can not work with vulnerable people in our society.
“There’s not much remorse or apology but you do accept that the harm caused was great.”
Sheriff Craig also ordered Drynan to remain within her home from 7pm to 7am for three months.
