A Renfrewshire care home has passed a recent inspection with flying colours.
The Care Inspectorate visited Stanely Park care home in Paisley and rated the care for residents as being ‘very good’ in every category it was assessed in.
The unannounced visit took place in November.
Inspectors praised the care home’s staff for creating “a warm and homely atmosphere”, where residents and their families “were generally very happy with the environment of the home”.
Stanely Park care home, situated on Stanely Road around one mile from Paisley town centre, is split over three levels, has bedrooms on each floor, lounge and dining facilities, and a garden area.
Care Inspectorate officials assessed the home on how well it supports people’s wellbeing and on how good the leadership is at the facility.
They gave them a five out of six in both categories.
A report from the inspectors explained: “We found significant strengths in aspects of the care provided and how these supported positive outcomes for people.”
They added that care plans “were found to be very well presented and inclusive of a wide range of person centred detail on the needs, wishes, and requirements of those people receiving support”, and there were “close links with external healthcare professionals, who visited regularly”.
“Meal times were seen to be a pleasant time where people could choose to sit with friends/fellow residents, eat on their own, or in their rooms in private, depending on their choices,” added the inspectors.
They also praised the care home’s approach to visiting, saying “that families, friends, and others who wished to visit were able to do so freely, and were received warmly by the staff within the home”.
The management team was singled out for strong praise: “A strong and knowledgeable managerial presence meant that that staff were able to follow an experienced role model, and work together as a team to provide a safe and quality service for those receiving support.”
But it wasn’t just management which helped to secure such a great result for the care home.
The report added: “We observed the care and support of residents to be of a high standard. People were treated with respect and dignity at all time.
“Staff were able to fully understand the needs of those being supported and ensure that person centred care was delivered at all times.”
