Renfrew illegal lockdown party broken up by police

Police were forced to break up another covid-breaching party in Renfrew after receiving a report from worried locals.

Seven people had gathered at a flat on Anderson Drive for the late-night bash on Wednesday.

The group were ordered to disperse and a 17-year-old boy was handed a fixed penalty notice for breaching coronavirus regulations.

It comes a week after a dozen people were ejected from a property by officers just a five-minute walk away where another illegal gathering was taking place.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a gathering at a property on Anderson Drive, Renfrew, around 11.50pm on Wednesday, 17 February.

“Officers attended and those in attendance were dispersed. A 17-year-old man was issued with a fixed penalty notice for breaching coronavirus regulations.”
