She was propelled into the limelight in the Nineties, primarily through her role as single mother Dorothy Boyd in 1996 rom-com Jerry Maguire.

Then came the Noughties, when she was well and truly catapulted to stardom. She starred as Roxie Hart in the 2003 rendition of Chicago, which won that year's Academy Award for Best Picture, and in 2004, she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Cold Mountain.

Alongside the award-winning performances, she also managed to garner a global legion of fans for her portrayal of the lovable Bridget Jones and now, following a six-year hiatus, Renée Zellweger is back.

The 50-year-old actress is making her return to the big screen in the new Ruper Goold-directed Judy Garland biopic Judy, which is out in UK cinemas this week.

The film, which has Zellweger hotly-tipped for her second Oscar, follows the final months of Garland's life, which were spent working in London, 30 years after she was propelled to fame courtesy of her role as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

And with a career as varied and celebrated as Zellweger’s, comes a red carpet wardrobe to match. Far from donning PJs and Daniel Cleaver-approved micro minis à la Bridget Jones, Zellweger’s sartorial choices over the years have been chic and refined.
