Renee Zellweger says she doesn't remember most of her thirties

Renee Zellweger has opened up in a new interview about finding fame in her thirties and her new role as Judy Garland.

Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Zellweger, 50, told correspondent Lee Cowan, “I don’t remember most of my thirties. Sounds like a joke, but it’s true. It just feels compressed,” the Texas-born actress said about the time her career took off.

In her thirties, she starred in films including Jerry Maguire and Bridget Jones, as well as Cold Mountain.

“It feels like it just happened like that,” she said, snapping her fingers. “I didn’t want that to happen again," she explained. "And then I started to repeat myself and I’m tired of myself."

After that, she took time out of the public eye before making a red carpet appearance that sparked rumors of cosmetic surgery. She followed up the commentary by writing an essay for Huffington Post about the experience.

She has also previously described a surreal moment on the London underground where she heard two people talking about her looks.

"It enters the room before you do," she said about her current fame. "Any perception that [someone] has of who you might be, that's who they meet."

Zellweger has been promoting her role as Judy Garland in the upcoming film Judy. The film is set to premiere on September 27 and highlights Garland's life, including her struggles with addiction.
