Renee Graziano Opens Up About Near-Fatal Overdose Experience

Renee Graziano, aged 55, hospitalized after ingesting fentanyl-contaminated drugs.

Renee Graziano, a former Mob Wives star, recently shared her harrowing experience of a near-fatal overdose that occurred last year. Graziano, aged 55, revealed on a podcast that she was hospitalized after ingesting drugs contaminated with fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid. She candidly admitted that her substance abuse issues arose during a particularly challenging period in her life.

Graziano recounted feeling overwhelmed as her personal relationships deteriorated, with her sister and son distancing themselves from her. The death of her father, a former consigliere of the Bonanno family, further exacerbated her emotional turmoil. She described the moment of overdose, where she collapsed in a Florida restaurant and was later revived after being intubated for three days.

The reality star expressed shock at the severity of the situation, as she had no recollection of the events surrounding her overdose. The incident served as a wake-up call, prompting her to seek rehabilitation to address her substance abuse issues. Graziano acknowledged the impact her actions had on her family and recognized the need for a significant lifestyle change.

This was not Graziano's first encounter with rehab, as she had previously sought treatment in 2012 following a DUI arrest. At that time, she disclosed her use of Adderall before the incident. Her decision to enter rehab last year was motivated by a desire to improve her overall well-being and set a positive example for her son.

Her publicist confirmed Graziano's entry into rehab, emphasizing that it was a voluntary choice aimed at enhancing her physical, mental, and spiritual health. The rehab facility in Miami provided a supportive environment for her recovery journey.

Graziano's story serves as a reminder of the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of seeking help when struggling with addiction. For individuals facing similar challenges, resources like the SAMHSA helpline (1-800-662-HELP) offer assistance and support in overcoming substance abuse issues.
