Renault have revealed their new look ahead of the Formula 1 team’s 2021 rebrand by releasing the first pictures of an Alpine F1 livery.

A large ‘A’ Alpine logo can be seen as the feature of the mostly black design, with flashes of red and blue in tribute to the French flag.

Labelled as a “temporary winter livery”, the full A521 car will be launched next month.

It will be Alpine’s first ever car in the sport, with Renault racing under its performance sub-brand.

Fernando Alonso provided his approval of the new design on Twitter by quoting the release and adding three emojis with hearts for eyes.

Joining the former world champion will be Esteban Ocon, while a new team principal will be appointed to link up with CEO is Laurent Rossi.

"The livery presented today is the first evocation of the Alpine F1 team's new identity," said Antony Villain, Alpine's design director.

"Some of the structural graphic elements will remain on the racing livery while others will change," added Villain about the first renders of the Alpine livery.

"The 'oversized' Alpine emblem in a tricolour graphics system is the first clear-cut symbol of the brand's identity in motorsport.

“The blue, white and red refer to the colours of the French and British flags, which is very important to us.

“Numerous variations on all the motorsport assets are still to come.”

Alongside the rebrand, Renault also confirmed plans for Alpine to build a new electric sports car as part of a new partnership with British manufacturer Lotus.
