Renato Tapia transfer tip-off as Celtic and Rangers-linked midfielder makes his signing choice

Celtic and Rangers target Renato Tapia has already chosen a club for next season - according to Peru's technical director.

The Feyenoord midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and both sides of the Glasgow divide have been credited with an interest in him.

Father Luis revealed that both Celtic and Rangers were keen to sign his son, who has been capped 53 times by Peru.

And it's the national team who have given a big hint about the 24-year-old's future, with the technical director hinting that Tapia has already made his choice.

Juan Carlos Oblitas told Ovacion: "Tapia is going to get a team and what's more, I think he already has.

"I don't want to say who it is though because he still has a contract until the end of the month.

"I feel calm when it comes to him."

As well as Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard, a number of managers are chasing the talented midfielder.

Celta Vigo have also been linked, as have MLS side LA Galaxy.

Tapia's father said earlier this month: "I've read the reports saying that Renato has agreed to sign for Celta Vigo and they are not true.

"There are a number of clubs interested in him, including both Celtic and Rangers from Scotland and Angers in France.

"For the moment, he will see his contract out with Feyenoord and will continue to train there.

"Nothing has been decided about his next move and we are waiting on more offers."
