Remote Scottish restaurant made famous by Trainspotting is hiring for live-in role

A restaurant at a train station made famous by the iconic 1996 film Trainspotting is hiring for a chef to work and live at the premises.

Station House is a remote eatery based at Corrour Station on the stunning West Highland Line, which was the backdrop for Ewan McGregor's famous rant about how it's 'sh**e being Scottish.'

Corrour Station is now a popular stop with film fanatics and after it was featured in the scene from the film - which is based on Edinburgh writer Irvine Welsh's iconic Trainspotting novel.

The ideal candidate for the job would be a passionate cook who is happy to work in a busy kitchen serving a regular stream of hungry walkers, hikers and tourists who are passing through on their way to bag one of the many Munros the area has to offer, reports The Daily Record.

While the station is only accessible via train or by a 20-mile walk, there will be no commute involved with the job because it comes with accommodation.

Station House was once described as one of the UK’s ‘remotest restaurants with rooms,' and is also the UK's highest line mainline station at 1,300 feet above sea level.

Trainspotting character Sick Boy famously takes the cast of the film on a trip to Corrour station to explore the outdoors, but after asking: “does it not make you proud to be Scottish?” at the stunning location, he is met the famous "it's s***e being Scottish" rant, from Renton played by Ewan McGregor.

The station famously appeared in Trainspotting (Film Four/Trainspotting)
