A volunteer paramedic and youth worker has been named the Northern Territory's 2026 Australian of the Year.
Felix Ho was on Monday named the 2026 award recipient for his service to remote communities as a medical practitioner.
The 43-year-old has also spent thousands of hours building the St John Youth Program, helps at public events as a St John first responder, and has served overseas with the United Nations as an intensive care paramedic.
He is known in the NT for bringing people together "across geography and generations" to equip Australia's youth to save lives through first aid in an emergency, the award organisers said in a statement.
"Dr Felix Ho tirelessly serves remote communities in the Northern Territory as a medical practitioner," the statement said.
Environmentalist Jenny Duggan was named the NT's Senior Australian of the Year, while Indigenous community leader Jaiden Dickenson received the NT's Young Australian of the Year award.
Emergency services and St John Ambulance volunteer Ron Green was named the 2026 Local Hero for the NT.
"Felix is sharing his skills and knowledge to save lives; Jenny shows the impact one can have for a community; Jaiden is leading by example and empathy; and Ron is the essence of a local hero," National Australia Day Council CEO Mark Fraser said.
The 2026 Australian of the Year award recipients will be announced on January 25.
The awards, run every year since 1960, celebrate the achievements and contributions of eminent Australians.
