Armistice day is upon us once more, and the country will again fall silent to remember the sacrifices so few made for so many.
The day is also an opportunity to show support to serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families.
It is now 103 years since the guns fell silent on the battlefields of Belgium and France, ending the conflict that was World War One.
And every year Remembrance Day is marked on the Sunday on or after November 11. This year, it's on Sunday, November 14.

And it has also become the day on which many of us also remember all others that have died serving in our armed forces in military conflict across the globe.
Last year, Remembrance Day events across Bury were largely cancelled as a result of Covid-19 pandemic.
Following the relaxing of restrictions, there is a chance to pay our respects to those people who gave their lives so that we could enjoy the freedom we have today.
Here's what's happening in the town.
Bury
The mayor will lead the Civic Remembrance Ceremony.
The parades will leave Bury Town Hall at 10.30am and proceed to Market Place, where there will be a short service of remembrance at the War Memorial.
The two minutes silence will be observed and there will be a wreath-laying ceremony.
This will be followed by a service of remembrance at Bury Parish Church followed by a ‘march past’ of the various detachments on parade, on the way to the Castle Armoury.
