Remember the viral £50 Christmas 2018 advert that made everyone cry? Well the filmmaker has done it again

Last year, a filmmaker's alternative Christmas advert became a viral hit after reducing viewers to tears.

The emotional film, which was viewed millions of times, was made for just £50 and fans called for the man behind it to be hired by John Lewis.

Now, Philip Beastall is back with a brand new festive advert for 2019 and it's another tear jerker.

Titled 'Made For You', Phil introduced his video on Twitter writing: "Christmas is a time for happiness, love and belonging.

"I'm excited to share this year's Christmas film."

The two-minute film depicts a long distance relationship carried out between two guys who are only able to stay in touch via text and FaceTime.

But fast forward to Christmas day and the couple are reunited and a romantic proposal takes place when they're finally reunited.

Responding to the video, which was released on Sunday (November 17), one fan said: "Just wonderful, made me smile, laugh & cry. You truly have a gift. I was so looking forward to seeing this and you didn't disappoint."

Another said: "Phil I'm not an overly emotional person but you got me again! You sure know how to tug the heartstrings, beautiful story."

"You've done it again Phil. Wonderful work," added a third. "Congrats on another heartwarming and uplifting film. Can't be long before @jlandpartners come calling."

Whilst another said: "Last years made me cry so much, this years is just gorgeous...and still made me cry! Amazing work everytime."

The 2018 offering, called Love is a Gift' saw a man counting down the days to Christmas so he can continue his yearly tradition.

When it comes to the big day itself, he opens up a cassette box and listens to a tape recorded by his late mother who recorded messages to her son before her death.

The corporate filmmaker said at the time that the message of the ad was to remind people about the importance of love at Christmas and not materialistic possessions.

Phil teased the release of his new new ad on Saturday with many saying that they still get choked up by his previous release.

One said: "My all time favourite Christmas film. No matter how many times I watch it, it still makes me cry."

Another added: "Still pulls heart strings every time I watch it.. It's an absolutely timeless piece.."
