Remember him? Referee appointed for Nottingham Forest's home clash with Bristol City

Veteran referee Keith Stroud will take charge of Nottingham Forest’s Championship clash with Bristol City on Saturday.

Reds fans will not need reminding of the last Forest game Stroud took charge of.

It was against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in February. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, but that only told half the story of a controversial encounter, which left many Reds fans fuming over Stroud’s performance.

Forest were left aggrieved when he failed to dismiss Jake Livermore for a high challenge on Yuri Ribeiro.

Then, with the scoreline at 1-1, Sammy Ameobi appeared to be fouled while going forward, but Stroud allowed play to continue, with the Baggies scoring through Tobias Figueiredo’s own goal.

Forest salvaged a point thanks to Matty Cash’s late goal, but Sabri Lamouchi was left bemoaning the performance of the man in the middle.

Stroud has taken charge of two games so far this season, handing out just one yellow card in each fixture.

Last season, he dished out 106 yellows and four reds in 32 games.
