The first full patch for Rematch is available today. Unlike the earlier hotfixes that focused on specific issues through targeted code tweaks, this update brings a wide range of changes across the board. Some adjustments are subtle, others more noticeable, but they’re all aimed at improving the overall experience.
One of the most notable additions is basic gamepad remapping. While it doesn’t yet support input combinations, it gives players an early chance to customize controls ahead of a more advanced version that’s on the way.
Improvements to hit detection should make things feel more responsive, especially for goalkeepers. An issue was fixed where the ball would be deflected instead of caught, due to ball speed not being properly evaluated. There’s also been a tweak to how goal decisions are handled when the ball is caught near the goal line. A short delay is now used to account for network variation before confirming whether it was a goal or a save.
Camera jitter during goal replays has been smoothed out and physical interactions between players—like body blocks—are now more effective. The end-of-match screen finally allows players to pause and review the scoreboard without being forced back to the ranking screen and the pause menu should now work at any point during a match.
As for animations, new static tap animations have been added, along with refinements to volley shots, diving players and pushball interactions. Head over to the official blog for all of the patch notes.
Last week, the team shared that crossplay and player reporting are on track to arrive within the next six to nine weeks. A new ranked queue is also in the works and should be ready in the next couple of months.
