Have you ever wanted a cross between the hit anime Blue Lock and football? Well, look no further because Rematch is just that, kind of. While it doesn't have superpowers, Rematch offers what Blue Lock enthusiasts wanted - a football game where every player controls a single character without any rules. Since the game can be quite difficult, this in-depth Rematch beginner's guide will assist you in becoming the best player.
Moving - with or without the ball - is one of the most crucial things you need to familiarize yourself with in Rematch. Once you get the ball, don't aimlessly run toward the goal in hopes of scoring. This might work when you first start the game, but it'll quickly get dismissed, and the opponents will steal the ball.

Instead, take a moment to look around and see where the defenders are so that you can run accordingly. If you come across opponents, don't panic. Here's everything that you need to prioritize learning to get better at the game.
If you have the ball, don't just run to the goal and shoot. This will often get the ball stolen because you're overrun by the defenders, or the keeper gets to it. Here are a few tips you can do to ensure both you and your entire team score more goals.
How to Power Your Shots

Most players hold the shoot button until the game launches the ball with full force. While it is good to have a powerful shot, it can be predictable in most cases. To counter this issue, you can add less power and do a grounded shot.
This often confuses the keepers as they'll dive left or right. Doing so will cause the ball to go under them even if they dive in the correct direction. Alternatively, you can even press the pass button when you're near the goal, and it will do a grounded pass inside the net. So, you don't always have to press the shoot button to score.
How to Curve Your Shot

Curving your shots is a great way to get the ball into the net from tricky angles. Since the straight shot is easily blocked, curving it will allow you to get past the keeper. This is especially useful if you are trying to score from the corner or have players in front of you.
To curve your shot, keep holding the shoot button and aim in the direction you want to curve. Depending on how much you want, the ball will curve either slightly or drastically. Keep in mind that you don't always have to keep your crosshair centered on the goal. Instead do it slightly off the goal and adjust according to how much you curved your shot.
Best Moves to Perform

Using tricks is a useful way of getting past defenders or even the keeper in some cases. Most players will use the slide tackle to get the ball from you. This is when you should lob the ball so that it's in the air and the slide misses. The Rainbow Flick is more complicated to execute compared to a regular lob, but it's another great way to avoid sliding tackles.
Opponents can block the air ball with dives, so don't overuse it. If you see a player start to slide, lob immediately. There are three different lob modifiers to shots as well as special abilities, so you can switch it up.
Sideways Chop should be your go-to for misdirection. This move has your body facing one direction while you kick the ball in the opposite direction. Use this trick shot to fool your enemies and pass the ball along to a teammate to score.
How to Use the Walls to Your Advantage

Unlike soccer in real life, there are force field walls surrounding the court in Rematch, which means the ball cannot go outside the bounds. Use this to your advantage by bouncing the ball off the walls and passing to your team. If you cannot find an opening on the field, use the walls to force one and cause panic in the opposing team.
This can also be done if you are playing defensively and want to clear the ball from your goal. Use the back walls behind your goal to add distance and height so that opponents cannot reach or block it. You can even set yourself up for a bicycle kick using the back wall as an alternative to getting a cross.
One of the best methods to trick the keeper into diving early is to aim for the back wall behind the opponents' goal. If you aim for the back wall, most keepers will dive thinking it's going in, giving your teammates an opening.
How to Defend in Rematch

Rematch isn't just about being a striker. While the glory of scoring a goal can be tempting, someone should stay inside your goal area to defend against opponents. Even if the attackers are rushing toward you, think carefully and don't dive in random directions. If they launch the ball to the back wall, do not dive. Instead, go to where the ball will drop so that you can automatically grab it.
However, if you see that your team is far away and the ball is next to the goal area, you should run toward it and clear it so that you don't have to do a one-on-one or potentially more. Only do this if you know you'll reach the ball before the opposing players; otherwise, you'll leave the goal post empty.
Even if you aren't a goalie, you can still help with the defense. When the rest of your team is rushing forward, you can stay in your half and look for opponents trying to counterattack. If the opposing keeper grabs the ball, they will throw it to your half. If no one else is defending, your goalie will have to do a one-on-one with the striker. You can help out by intercepting the opponents and stealing the ball from them with a slide tackle.
