Remarkable stat proves Liverpool's burning desire to never give up

Last-minute winners are guaranteed to spark an unbridled reaction of celebration, emotion and sometimes relief amongst any fan base.

They are the goals that clinch three points and are naturally seen as some of the most vital strikes in any campaign for a team.

Sometimes, such finishes can be lucky but often they are the mark of a side that is never willing to give up and the mantra of playing to the final whistle is something they follow with every ounce of their effort.

Liverpool have proved the latter of those statements time and time again with last-minute winners often being scored to send the Anfield faithful into pure delirium.

Most-recently in the Premier League, James Milner scored a 95th-minute penalty for the Reds to clinch a crucial 2-1 victory over Leicester City.

That goal saw Jurgen Klopp's side extend the gap at the top of the table to eight points - a lead that was secured when Manchester City lost their game in hand to Wolves.

Milner's successful spot-kick was also the 34th time Liverpool have scored a winning goal in the domestic competition in the 90th minute.

The goal means the European champions have now scored eight more last-minute winners than any other side in Premier League history so far with Arsenal coming next on 25, while Manchester United sit in third on 22.

That is an incredible testament to just how hard Klopp's men push themselves to never give up in a game and try everything they can to find a winner and secure all three points.
