Remarkable pictures captured of the fog over Nottingham city centre

Incredible drone pictures have captured a bird's eye view of fog swamping Nottingham city centre.

The stills were captured by Chris Wilkinson at Upper Cut Productions from a drone circling the city.

They show a thick fog coating Nottingham, with the Council House covered in mist.

Parts of the city can't even be made out as the fog consumes buildings and landmark sites.

They were taken on the morning of Wednesday, January 22.

Mr Wilkinson said: "I am delighted with the pictures. When the drone went up it was pure white.

"It was like going up in a lift and then we started to see this massive hole in the fog over the city which gave us these photos.

"We were 400ft above the ground. We have a high resolution camera on the drone. We got the city centre and Mapperley Park."

The foggy weather also continues today (Thursday, January 23) and is expected to last all morning, according to the MET Office.

There is also a chance of 'overcast' weather from 1pm,continuing throughout the evening.
