Remarkable footage of earth from space released by ISS

The International Space Station has released remarkable footage of earth.

The ISS put together images to create a timelapse that covers several of the planet's continents.

As the video begins the Northern Lights can be seen in the top left of the screen, before the space station travels over land and sea, showing the amount of visible light from different countries.

The sun can even be seen rising over earth's horizon as the videos finishes.

Nasa continue to release stunning footage of our solar system, such as the recent images of the planet Jupiter.

The pictures were shot in 4k ultra-HD resolution, offering up fresh details on the largest planet in the solar system.

Details included a colour change in the feature known as The Giant Red Spot as well as a remarkable wave above Jupiter's equator.
