Remains of cannabis factory found dumped in dozens of bags in lane outside Cardiff

The remains of a cannabis cultivation have been found dumped in dozens of bags in a country lane outside Cardiff.

A large number of bags have been located by police in the Wenvoe area in the Vale of Glamorgan. Images taken at the scene show dozens of bags - mostly black bin bags but others that are more distinctive - dumped on a footpath, and police said much of the content inside suggested it came from a cannabis cultivation.

Police have also said that flytipping in the area is becoming a more common occurrence and an investigation is now underway to trace those who dumped the waste in this latest incident.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “We are investigating a case of flytipping whereby much of the contents of the bags provide evidence of cannabis cultivation.

“The rubbish was located in Wenvoe, and flytipping in this area is getting more regular. We ask that if anyone recognises them or any property they may have come from, to report it to us.”
