Remains of a Texas woman missing since October identified; husband faces murder charge

FORT WORTH, Texas _ The remains of a woman who had been listed as missing since October have been positively identified by Tarrant County officials.

Investigators with the Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office used dental records provided by investigators to positively identify the remains of Jennifer Pautenis, 29, according to the Hood County Sheriff's Office.

Pautenis' remains were found in a rural area of Hood County on Dec. 4, after her husband, Edward Pautenis, 59, led investigators to the area, according to a Hood County news release.

Edward Pautenis is in the Hood County jail facing murder and tampering with evidence charges, authorities said. Bond for the murder charge is set at $1 million while bond for the tampering charge is set at $10,000.

Edward Pautenis was arrested earlier in December by deputies with the Hood County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers.

Jennifer Pautenis disappeared on Oct. 20.
