MUMBAI: The second convoy of four trailers carrying the remaining four Metro coaches reached Sariput Nagar, in Aarey from Sri City in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. It took ten days for the convoy to reach the city from Sri City — a distance of 1,400km. The four coaches —weighing 42-tonne each — were brought by special 8-axelled trailers with 64 wheels.
A Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) spokesperson said, “With this, all the eight Metro coaches of the first prototype train of Metro Line-3 will now be assembled at the temporary site set up for train delivery and testing track at Sariput Nagar in next two days and checking of train will follow immediately, thereafter.” tnn
