The New Year special episode of 2019/20 lives in the hearts of all Derry Girls fans, as it showed the incredible cast as themselves rather than their characters.

It allowed people to connect with the actors themselves, and see their humour and characters shine through.

Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, Nicola Coughlan, Siobhan McSweeney, Saoirse Monica Jackson and Dylan Llewellyn all marched into the Bake Off tent ready to showcase their baking talents.

This may have not went according to plan.

From attempting to create a perfect trifle, to the tricky technical of salmon and beetroot blinis, to their magnificent show-stopper "favourite decade" cakes, this Derry Girls episode is hilarious from start to finish.

In anticipation for the third and final season coming out next year, Derry Girls fans may want to relive the first two seasons and additional programmes featuring the cast members.

The episode was summed up at the announcement of the Star Baker, and the remark from comedian and presenter Sandi Toksvig that the castw ere "5 of the most troublesome people" they have had in the tent, but that they have "never had more fun."
