The First Minister had her second dose of a coronavirus vaccine in June
Nicola Sturgeon said she was relieved as she no longer needs to self-isolate after she tested negative for coronavirus.
The Scottish First Minister updated everyone on her Twitter account after the news broke she had come into contact with someone who had coronavirus.
Double-jabbed adults and all children are exempt from isolating if they take a negative PCR test under the latest coronavirus guidelines.
The First Minister had her second dose of a coronavirus vaccine in June.
Relieved to report that my PCR test is negative. Coupled with fact I’m double vaccinated - with second dose more than 2 weeks ago - that means I no longer need to isolate. Scotland had recorded more than 7,000 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, a new record high.
Ms Sturgeon tweeted: “Relieved to report that my PCR test is negative.
“Coupled with fact I’m double vaccinated - with second dose more than 2 weeks ago - that means I no longer need to isolate.”
Ms Sturgeon said she would continue to do lateral flow tests and advised anyone in her position to do the same.
She added: “We are seeing a rising curve of cases in Scotland.
“It’s reassuring that vaccines are preventing the levels of serious health harms that case numbers like this would once have caused.
“However, we can’t be complacent and are monitoring carefully. In meantime, please take care.”
