Emmerdale fans know this Christmas there’s going to be a big fire at village pub The Woolpack but they might not recall the previous blaze at the boozer.
As Emmerdale fans know, the Woolie has been going through some financial difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic. Things are set to take a turn for the worse when the pub goes up in flames in a major Christmas storyline.
At the minute, the team are remaining tight-lipped about what viewers can expect but while we wait for spoilers we thought we’d take a step back in time to when there was a fire back at the Woolpack in 1998.

Some of you might recall the incident, others might not, but it happened during episode 2,432 if you want to be really precise.
It happened not long after Alan Turner’s granddaughter Tricia Stokes unexpectedly arrived in the village and was given a job in pub.
In October, Tricia accidentally set fire to the Woolpack with fireworks while Alan was on holiday.
The incident happened while Terry Woods was declaring his love for Tricia.

The fireworks, being stored under the bar, went off rather unexpectedly.
Both Tricia and Terry tried to prevent the fireworks going off but it couldn’t be prevented and viewers might recall their were several explosions at the Woolie.
When Alan Turner came back to the village from his break away he was horrified by what happened.
In time, he had the Woolpack rebuilt and redecorated. At this time, the private rooms were removed and were converted into bedrooms.
Of course, we’ll keep you posted about the expected Christmas drama at the Woolie and the festive fire coming up on the horizon.
