Relief for Paul McGrath as missing son of Republic of Ireland legend is found safe and well

Dublin soccer legend Paul McGrath thanked the "power of social media" after revealing that his missing son has been found.

The former Republic of Ireland star thanked the public and the police for their support after his son Paul was located.

The Inchicore man said: "Thanks to the power of social media & Metropolitan Police my son Paul has been located.

"The love and support shown to myself and my family has been phenomenal. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you."

The ex-football star appealed for the public's help on Thursday after Paul Jnr went missing.

He took to Twitter saying: "Please retweet. Looking for social media help please.

"Has anyone seen my son Paul in around Hale, Manchester, London or any airports in the past few days.

"Police have been informed but we are very concerned and someone somewhere might have spotted him".

Fans have flocked to offer support and help, with one saying: "Let’s hope he’s found safe and sound really soon Paul. Fingers crossed for you."

McGrath's original tweet asking for help locating his son received over 35,000 retweets from football fans.
