Skiers and boarders are breathing a sigh of relief as snow finally fell on the NSW ski resorts.
Perisher recorded an additional 12 centimetres of snow overnight on Saturday after a dump of 20 centimetres on the previous evening.
Thredbo received 15 centimetres of fresh snow over the last 24 hours for a total of 43 centimetres over the past 72 hours.
Selwyn Snowfields was also able to open today, Saturday, July 4, a month later than its counterparts.
"A steady snowfall over the past few days has certainly got the resort looking as it should," an update on their website read.
"There will be colder nights ahead and that will help the snowmakers add to the cover over the coming days."
June was warmer than average across much of Australia, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
In particular, the south-east saw extended periods of maximum and minimum temperatures up to six degrees above average, with persistent northerly winds bringing warm air from the interior to the region.
Possible snow showers are forecast this weekend, but rain is predicted on the peaks towards the end of next week.
