Relief as missing Rutherglen man traced safe and well

Police searching for a Rutherglen man who vanished from his home has been traced safe and well.

Concerns were raised after James Brian Hampson, known as Brian, went missing at 4.40am on Thursday in Hardie Avenue.

Officers then appealed to the public for help find the missing 51-year-old.

Police Scotland has now confirmed he has been traced and thanked the public for their help.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said:"With regards to our previous appeal for assistance tracing James Brian Hampson, known as Brian (51) of Main Street in Rutherglen.

"Please note, James was traced a short time ago safe and well. The public are thanked for their assistance with this."
