Relegation-threatened Notts County have been 'mismanaged'

Stevenage boss Dino Maamria claims Notts County have been "mismanaged" over the last few months, but insists the Magpies will be no pushover.

Neal Ardley's side head to the Lamex Stadium on Saturday hoping for a crucial three points in their fight for survival, while Stevenage still hope they can make a late surge to the play-offs.

Maamria's side have proven difficult to beat on their own patch this season and are the bookies' favourites to clinch all three points against troubled Notts.

But he is not taking anything for granted against a Magpies side that have endured a turbulent season on and off the pitch.

“It was a tough goal to concede last minute at Macclesfield (last weekend), but we have got to find a way forward and on Monday we went  over that," he said.

“We have gone through a few things, where we need to improve and how to win those games rather than drawing them.

“It is definitely going to be a tough game. There are no easy games. Every game we have played this season has been a tough game, they have all been close calls.

Jim O'Brien insists Notts County are not 'chucking it in'

“Notts County have a very, very good squad. They have been mismanaged for the past few months or so, but they have got a good squad of players and I am sure they are trying to get themselves together.

"They have picked up a few results now and they are trying to save themselves. They are fighting for their lives.”
