Reiss Nelson has told Emile Smith Rowe how they can get more Arsenal game time

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has admitted that he and team-mate Emile Smith Rowe need to improve in front of goal this season.

Nelson spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, scoring seven goals for the German club in the top-flight.

The 20-year-old then returned to the Gunners last season, making 23 appearances under both Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta in all competitions.

The English winger scored three goals across three competitions, with his standout moment of the campaign coming in the penultimate game in a 2-1 win against Liverpool, where Nelson scored the winning goal at the Emirates Stadium.

As for Smith Rowe, he spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town, where he scored twice in the English second-tier.

The season before, he had a brief spell in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, but made just three appearances in the league under Ralf Rangnick.

The 20-year-old made six appearances for the Gunners spread across all competitions last season, and is yet to play for the first-team during this campaign under Arteta.

In a quiz on Arsenal's official YouTube channel, Nelson and Smith Rowe went head-to-head to name players who have scored 10 or more goals for the Gunners in a single season since 2000.

Of course, names like Robin van Persie, Olivier Giroud and Thierry Henry were named.

However, towards the end of the video, Nelson pointed out one key area of their games where himself and his colleague could improve.

He also said it could be done this season, when he explained: "It would've been nice to say one of ourselves.

"(There's) room for improvement, this season, but guys, time's ticking - I need to go and get a trim."
