Wanderers manager Ian Evatt confirmed after last night's pre-season friendly victory over Preston North End that Greenidge was close to securing a move away from Wanderers.

And the central defender has now joined the Bees on a loan deal for the upcoming season in the National League, with a view to signing for the club permanently.

Speaking to Barnet's website, Greenidge said: "I am happy to be here and I look forward to coming in helping the team, getting some wins and pushing to get the club back where they belong.

"I just want to play as many games as possible, gets as many wins as possible, keep clean sheets and maybe get a few goals as well! It's all about the team and I just want to help the team win.

"When I heard what the club wanted to do this year, I knew it was the right place for me to come and try to help the team.

"I am looking forward to getting some games and playing in front of fans again."

A statement from Wanderers read: "The club would like to wish Reiss well during his time at the Hive Stadium."
