Rehau plant on Anglesey has gone up for sale

A former plastics factory has been placed up for sale - seven months after its closure saw 100 workers lose their jobs.

Bosses of the global firm REHAU Group announced its manufacturing facility in Amlwch was to shut  back in January 2019 due to demand for PVC Edgeband, the facility’s primary manufacturing focus, going into decline.

It closed at the end of the year with just over 100 staff losing their jobs.

The factory had operated in Amlwch for more than 40 years.

Now the site has been placed on the market with Lambert Smith Hampton.

It includes the 60,000 sq ft manufacturing unit set within more than seven acres of land.

The commercial agent said: "We understand that the commercial portion of the property, on the eastern side, falls under use class B2 (General Industrial.

"The land on the western end of the property is currently designated for agriculturaluses.

"The site may be suitable for altenative uses and/or redevelopment, subject to planning."

There is no price stated.
