Reguilon, Son, Davies - Tottenham team news and injury latest ahead of Newcastle clash

The international break is over, and club football is finally returning with Chelsea hosting West Brom at Stamford Bridge in the weekend's early kick-off in the Premier League.

The Blues will be hoping that the extended break will not have interrupted their momentum too badly, with Thomas Tuchel's side currently on a 15-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

It's the start of an important run of fixtures for Chelsea, with the Champions League quarter-finals against Porto and the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City coming up in the next three weeks, so Tuchel will be hoping to have a full contingent to choose from as he also tries to keep up the pressure in the race for a top-four spot.

With that said, here is the latest injury news for Tottenham.

Ben Davies

The left-back had to withdraw from Wales' squad for the international break due to a "significant" injury, according to Wales' caretaker manager Robert Page.

Mourinho stated on Instagram that Davies has been carrying an injury despite coming on for Sergio Reguilon in the win against Aston Villa.

"When a player plays injured to help his team to recover from two bad defeats, this can happen. A man, a team player," Mourinho wrote.

Davies' return date is not yet clear

Son Heung-min

The South Korean star suffered a hamstring injury just 19 minutes into the North London derby, before missing the Europa League defeat against Dinamo Zagreb and the win against Aston Villa before the international break.

Son was removed from the Korean squad for their friendly against Japan, giving him time to recover over the two-week break in the hope that he will be fit for the game against Newcastle.

Sergio Reguilon

The left-back picked up an injury in the win at Villa Park, unable to play on after getting a kick on the foot.

However, he posted on Instagram after the match stating: "everything is fine" with a thumbs-up emoji.

He missed out on a call-up to the Spain squad for the international break, meaning he had two weeks to recover and should be back in contention for the trip to Newcastle.

Matt Doherty

Doherty picked up an early injury in Ireland's shock defeat to Luxembourg, struggling for a while before eventually coming off at half-time.

He returned to Tottenham on Monday because of the injury, the specifics of which have not yet been revealed.

Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier both missed the game against Villa due to illness, but were able to leave on international duty and play full parts for their countries.

Erik Lamela also missed the match at Villa Park, but that was due to suspension following his red card against Arsenal, and he should be back in contention for the trip to Newcastle.
