Former Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlein has confessed that he quickly 'regretted' his decision to join the club from Manchester United.
The France international signed for the Blues in January 2017 for £24m after becoming sidelined at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
Schneiderlein had previously earned plaudits for his performances with Southampton and was a mainstay in his first season with United.
However, after finding himself left out the following year by new manager Mourinho, the now-32-year-old took the decision to join Everton after being courted by Ronald Koeman.

Currently playing for Nice, Schneiderlin has now admitted that he knew he had made the wrong choice.
“I learned a lot from my departure from Manchester United. I had played 40 matches the previous season with Manchester,” he told L’Equipe, as reported by Sport Witness .
“When I come back from the Euros, I take 10 days off and I play very little for three, four months.
“Then, I have Ronald Koeman and Everton who are pushing hard to get me, every day, from October.”
Schneiderlin continued: “I will remember it all my life: I should have played against Liverpool (in October 2016,) starter, and the coach comes to see me.
“He tells me he doesn’t feel me inside the group. I tell him that indeed, with what has happened in the last three months, I am not in it and I want to go to Everton.
“I regretted it very quickly.”
Having played for Koeman in his final season at Southampton, Schneiderlin was a regular for the Blues in his first 18 months at Goodison.
However, he eventually found himself to be a bit-part player in his final two seasons before leaving in 2020.
And Schneiderlin has even suggested that his career could have followed a different path if he had stayed and fought for his place at United, instead of rushing to sign for Everton.
He said: “Even if it went very well at Everton, when you play for Manchester United, when you’re at a club like that, it’s not for a moment of doubt that you have to question everything.
“Look at Ander Herrera: the first year I arrived, he was on the bench; he persevered, and today he is at PSG.”
