Registration Starts for Saudis Wishing to Return Home

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. SPA

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said Sunday it plans to fly home any citizens abroad who wish to return to the country during the coronavirus outbreak, and has launched an electronic service to register those interested.

The ministry said in a statement that the decision comes in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

"Registration will start on Sunday and will take five days. Priority will be given to those in countries most hit by the coronavirus, pregnant women and elders," said the statement that was carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

Citizens will be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon their return, SPA quoted the ministry as saying.
