Registration closes today for Glastonbury Festival 2020 - here's everything you need to know about getting tickets for the event's 50th anniversary

Revellers hoping to attend Glastonbury Festival 2020 - which marks the iconic event's 50th year - have just hours remaining to register for a ticket.

After opening in June, registration officially comes to a close at 5pm on September 30.

And only those who have registered for tickets will be eligible to purchase them when they go on sale later this week.

Coach packages for the festival will be released this Thursday (October 3) at 6pm while general admission tickets will be released on Sunday (October 6) at 9am.

Here's how to register for tickets

In order to access ticket sales for Glastonbury, you'll need to have registered in advance on the Glastonbury 2020 website.

The process is free and only takes a few minutes to complete.

To do this, you need to upload a JPEG headshot of yourself that's at least 900 pixels wide and 1250 pixels tall and between 100KB and 500KB in size.

The photograph, similar to a passport photo, must have a neutral expression and be taken against a plain, light background.

You cannot wear hats, sunglasses or anything which covers your face in the photo.

Anyone 12 years of age and under when gates open does not need to register or purchase a ticket.

This year marks Glastonbury Festival's 50th anniversary - so demand is expected to be very high.

It's expected tickets will be priced around £250.

Last year, they sold out in just under 30 minutes.

Who is attending Glastonbury 2020?

It's not yet been announced who's performing at this year's festival, but there's been a fair bit of speculation so far.

Last week, eagle-eyed fans noticed Taylor Swift had nothing pencilled in for Glastonbury's dates, despite being in the middle of her Reputation stadium tour.

There's also been speculation that the Spice Girls could reunite for another show following their sell-out tour earlier this year.

In 2019, major acts included The Killers, Janet Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Stormzy, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Bastille, Liam Gallagher, Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus, The Cure and George Ezra.
