Reggie Wayne is a big Kenny Golladay fan

Reggie Wayne knows a good wideout when he sees one. Wayne himself was one of the best during his 14-year career with the Colts, which ended in 2014 with Wayne sitting 10th all-time in receptions and receiving yards.

So when he speaks highly of Lions wideout Kenny Golladay, Wayne’s words carry some gravitas.

“Man, his future is really bright,” Wayne said of Golladay during the media tour of Super Bowl week. “He definitely has what it takes. He’s got a gunslinger (Matthew Stafford at QB), that’s half the battle. I think he’s their future, I really do.”

Like the rest of the football world, Wayne wondered who could step up for the Lions after the team dealt Golden Tate.

“When they got rid of Golden Tate, I was like, ‘Who’s going to be the guy?” Wayne said. “But man, caught everyone by surprise. He (Golladay) was definitely under my radar.”

Golladay topped 1,000 receiving yards in his second NFL season and proved down the stretch he can be a featured weapon. Now the Lions need to find the partner for Golladay that Marvin Harrison was for years with Wayne in Indianapolis.
