Former USC tailback Reggie Bush expressed immense joy upon the return of his Heisman Trophy and is now focused on reclaiming his tarnished reputation. Bush, who adamantly denies any wrongdoing during his college football career, sees the reinstatement of his Heisman as a significant milestone in his ongoing battle against the NCAA to clear his name and restore his records.

During a celebratory news conference at the Coliseum, where he once played for the Trojans, Bush, accompanied by his family, proudly displayed the trophy. He commended the Heisman Trust for reinstating his honors but emphasized that his legal fight against the NCAA is far from over.

Bush's Heisman win in 2005 was vacated in 2010 due to sanctions imposed on USC, partly related to his interactions with sports marketers. The recent decision by the Heisman Trust to return the trophy to Bush in acknowledgment of changes in college athletics has been a significant moment for the former star.

Despite the trophy's return, Bush remains resolute in his pursuit of justice, as he continues to challenge the NCAA's characterization of the events that led to his sanctions. He highlighted the emotional toll of being labeled a cheater, stressing that he has never engaged in any form of cheating and is determined to clear his name.

While the NCAA's sanctions resulted in the vacating of USC's wins and the removal of Bush's achievements from the record books, he remains steadfast in his quest for exoneration. Bush, who hopes to see his retired jersey number displayed at the Coliseum and participate in Trojans' events, including leading the team onto the field, is unwavering in his commitment to restoring his reputation.

With his disassociation from USC ending in 2020, Bush is optimistic about the future and believes that his fight against the NCAA serves as a call to action for the governing body to rectify its stance. As he looks ahead to potential accolades and honors, Bush asserts that achieving success in college football is not possible through cheating and is determined to set the record straight.
