Reggie Bush ranks Seahawks’ Chris Carson among 5 best running backs

Former running back Reggie Bush, speaking on NFL Network’s “Total Access,” ranked who he believes will be the top five running backs over the next five years.

Seahawks running back Chris Carson came in at No. 5 – behind the Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott, the Giants’ Saquon Barkley, Todd Gurley of the Rams and Nick Chubb of the Browns.

The 24-year-old Carson started 14 games for Seattle last season, rushing 247 times for 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 20 receptions for 163 yards.

It was his first full season. He only played four games as a rookie before a knee injury ended his season.

The former seventh-round pick was projected to take a back seat last year after Seattle used a first-round pick on running back Rashaad Penny, but Carson beat him out for a job and ended up posting some of the strongest rushing numbers in the league last year.

Now, between Carson and Penny, Seattle has a powerful backfield for the foreseeable future.
