Regé-Jean Page reads story to send people to sleep - but women complain it's too sexy

Bridgerton hearthrob Rege-Jean Page has been turning female fans on with his bedtime stories – rather than sending them to sleep.

The TV hunk, who played the Duke of Hastings in the hit Netflix series, has joined other celebs such as Harry Styles and Matthew McConaughey in reading stories for the sleep app, Calm.

While the aim is to make users slowly drift off to sleep while listening to Rege-Jean’s dulcet tones, some women say it is having the opposite effect on them.

In case you’re wondering which story to tune into it’s The Prince and The Naturalist by author Victoria Gosling, which lasts 32 minutes.

One fan said: “Rege-Jean Page has the voice of VELVET I tell you.”

Another said: “His voice just leaves me horny, not sleepy.”

While a third joked: “I downloaded it and was thrashing around. Not sure that’s what the makers intended.”

“Rege-Jean has a deep, sexy voice and his sleep story is meant to help people with insomnia sleep,” a source told The Sun.

“Unfortunately it’s left them a tad too excited for a snooze.”

Although he’s known for his steamy scenes with Phoebe Dynevor in the first series of Bridgerton, the actor is a bit shy when it comes to being called sexy.

He recently admitted he couldn’t watch his sex scenes on the show back as he found it too “overwhelming”.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Rege-Jean said: “No one was sufficiently prepared. I wasn’t sufficiently prepared and I was there.

“I think people were grateful for the intensity of the romantic aspects of Bridgerton. I’m not sure how grateful I was to watch it for myself. It was overwhelming.”

He added: “My family doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by my backside, specifically, too often. But they’ll take it on this occasion because everyone seems to be terribly happy.”

Rege-Jean has since confirmed he will not be returning for the second series of Bridgerton, which is being filmed at the moment.

He recorded the story for the Calm app while waiting for his next project to come out on Netflix, said to be a heist thriller.

And it’s not the first time a bedtime story read by a celebrity has got fans a bit hot under the collar.

Tom Hardy’s appearance on CBeebies Bedtime Stories was mostly enjoyed by his adult admirers rather than the channel’s younger target audience.

Listeners were hooked on every word as the 44-year-old Peaky Blinders star read the Ross Collins’ book There’s A Bear on My Chair.

One fan gushed: “Just watched CBeebies bedtime stories with Tom Hardy. It’s a combo of sleep deprivation and my insane crush... but I was totally captivated.”

Another lusted: “Tom Hardy has made CBeebies way too sexy.”

“That voice. That face. Wow...just wow!!!” a third commented.
