Regan Booty grateful to Notts County for ending stressful summer

Regan Booty says he never gave up believing he would find a new club this summer and is grateful to Notts County for ending a summer of stress.

The midfielder was without a club until Notts signed him on a free transfer last Monday having spent time on trial at both Halifax and Bradford.

After being released by Championship Huddersfield at the end of last season, the 21-year-old said it made for a stressful summer as he waited for the phone to ring.

But he was determined to keep in shape just in case as Ardley decided to make him his 11th signing of the summer.

“Everybody thinks it is the best job in the world and that’s the case when things are going well,” he said.

“But nobody sees the bad side of it. Over the summer you’ve got to make sure you are in the best shape if somebody comes calling.

“The manager did that here and I was ready to go.

“I hadn’t reached the stage of looking for a job outside football, because you have to believe in yourself.

“You wait for that opportunity to come and thankfully the manager rang me. I am really enjoying it, even though I have only been here for a week,”
