Former The Bill actor Jeff Stewart looked like he had been swept away in a fashion emergency as he was spotted taking a stroll near his home.
Onlookers were shocked to discover the tartan blazer wearing geezer was none other than Reg from the hit TV show.
Gone was the shiny black police helmet hair and in it's place a wild grey mane.
Jeff, now 63, played Reg Hollis on the hit ITV police drama for 26 years until it ended in 2010.
Reg was Sun Hill's police federation rep and known among colleagues for his love of model trains sets.

During his stroll Jeff donned a pair of dark shades, presumably in case he was recognised.
Despite it getting rather chilly out there lately, Jeff exposed his legs to the elements in a pair of shorts that fell above his knees.
He finished off his bizarre look with a khaki shirt, blue socks and grubby white trainers.

Jeff also carried a bright yellow umbrella, with the handle hooked over his arm, just in case the weather turned on him.
He also had a tote bag hooked over his arm to carry his shopping.
He was snapped walking along with his phone held up to his ear as he chatted away.

During his stroll, Jeff was seen making friends with a black cat.
The feline looked up at him as he held his hand out towards it in a becoming motion.
Scottish actor Jeff looks worlds away from his character in The Bill.

He was in the show from the very beginning, although he didn't physically appear in the pilot episode.
Reg Hollis was mentioned only by name, and appeared for the first time in the first regular episode.
By March 2007, he was the last remaining member of the cast from that episode.

It's his best known role to date, although he did appear in a number of other shows, including Crossroads, Doctor Who and Hi-De-Hi!
