Referee with Nottingham Forest penalty history appointed for Millwall clash

Nottingham Forest resume their Sky Bet Championship campaign this week with a home clash against Millwall.

The Reds take on the Lions at the City Ground on Friday night, as they look to return to winning ways following their latest result.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side were held to a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough on Monday night, and currently lie in fourth place in the Championship table.

A win over Millwall on Friday would move Forest up to third place in the league standings, before Fulham take on Bristol City on Saturday.

Ahead of the game, the EFL have confirmed that Geoff Eltringham will be the referee for the clash on Trentside.

He will be assisted by Rob Smith and Michael George, with Darren Drysdale will work as the fourth official.

Eltringham has taken charge of two Forest matches so far this season, with the last being the 2-0 win over Hull City on Boxing Day.

A brace from Lewis Grabban, with the first coming from the penalty spot, secured the victory for the Reds at the KCOM Stadium.

The other match that Eltringham officiated was the 1-1 draw with Preston North End at the end of August.

In total, Eltringham has taken charge of 14 Forest matches, with the Reds only winning three, drawing five and losing six.
