Referee with Nottingham Forest history appointed for Middlesbrough clash

Nottingham Forest will be spending the next few days gearing up for their Sky Bet Championship clash.

The Reds travel to face Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Monday, as they look to continue their quest for promotion to the Premier League.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are currently in fourth place in the Championship table, six points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

West Bromwich Albion are top of the table, with Leeds United in second and occupying the final automatic promotion spot.

Fulham, Brentford and Preston North End in making up the play-off places with 11 league fixtures left to play.

Ahead of Monday’s clash between Forest and Boro, the EFL have confirmed who will referee the match.

Darren England will take charge of the clash at the Riverside, and he will be assisted by Nick Greenhalgh and Philip Dermott.

David Webb will work as the fourth official for the match on Teesside.

England has taken charge of three Forest matches so far this season, two of which have come in the Championship.

The last match was Forest’s 1-0 win over arch rivals Derby County in November, while he was also in charge of the Reds’ 5-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in September.

England also took charge of Forest’s 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on the opening day of the season.

Last season saw England also referee Forest’s 4-2 win over Leeds United at the City Ground and, rather worryingly, Boro have not lost any of the eight matches that he has officiated.
