The referee that sent off Leeds United’s Gaetano Berardi against Millwall has not been given a game to officiate this weekend.
James Linington controversially sent off the Swiss defender 14 minutes into Leeds' 2-1 defeat at the New Den before the international break.
There didn’t appear to be any contact as Millwall forward Tom Bradshaw cut across him and fell to the ground, the referee pointing to the penalty spot afterwards.
To make matters worse, he showed Berardi a red card, the eighth of his Leeds United career, making him the most dismissed player in the club’s history. But he could be excused on this occasion.

Leeds appeal against the decision was their first successful one in 12 years, with the FA rescinding the red card after replays showed sufficient cover.
With club captain Liam Cooper still injured, Berardi is likely to be given another start for the club’s upcoming centenary game against Birmingham City.
It’s since been announced that referee Linington , who has also sent off Leeds players Guiseppe Bellusci, Sam Byram and Liam Bridcutt in years gone by, won’t be officiating any game this weekend after his erroneous decision before the international break.
His next match will be the midweek clash between Bristol City and Charlton Athletic on Wednesday October 23.
Robert Jones will be taking charge of Leeds clash against the Blues this weekend.
