Referee for Leeds United's trip to Sheffield Wednesday confirmed

Referee Tim Robinson has been handed the task of officiating Leeds United's Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa's men travel down to Hillsborough for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off this weekend with both sides sitting in the top three of the Championship.

Robinson will be in the middle for what could well be a feisty affair given that local bragging rights are up for grabs and has officiated 11 Leeds United games in his career, without sending off a single Whites player. He has issued 23 yellows to Leeds players with the Whites winning five, drawing two and losing four of the games he has been in charge of.

In the eight games he has refereed Sheffield Wednesday he has sent off three Owls players for second bookable offenses.

Meanwhile, referee James Linington, who saw the red card he issued to Gaetano Berardi at Millwall rescinded earlier this month, was criticised by Bristol City boss Lee Johnson on Wednesday evening.

Linington was in charge of his first Championship match since the enounter at The Den and issued a late straight red card to Robins forward Famara Diedhiou, with Johnson calling the decision making process 'astounding'.

Linington takes charge of another Yorkshire derby this weekend after he was handed Barnsley's trip to Huddersfield Town.
