Manchester City's Premier League fixture against Norwich will see Graham Scott as the man in charge after he was appointed as referee by the FA.
City 's season started poorly as they were well beaten by Tottenham in north London thanks to a fine strike by Heung-Min Son, as their pursuit of Harry Kane took centre stage following their blunt attacks.
Norwich's start to the new season was no better as they were dominated by an energetic Liverpool side, losing 3-0 at Carrow Road thanks to goals from Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Referee Scott didn't officiate any games on the opening weekend but was the fourth official for Norwich's game at Liverpool so will be well acquainted with their players and style after watching up close and personally last weekend.
Scott last refereed a Man City game after the COVID break in the 2019/20 season, overseeing a victory for Pep Guardiola 's side as they beat Brighton 5-0 in July 2020.
He will be joined by assistant referees Harry Lennard and Simon Long while the fourth official will be Peter Bankes. VAR will be overseen by Jonathan Moss, and he will be assisted by Timothy Wood.
