Referee appointment for Millwall vs Nottingham Forest will spark fond memories for Reds fans

Nottingham Forest are gearing up for their next clash in the Sky Bet Championship as they travel to face Millwall on Friday night.

The Reds take on the Lions at The Den this week as they look to bank another three points in their quest for promotion to the Premier League.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side suffered a minor setback in their previous outing which saw them suffer a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City at the weekend.

Despite this loss, Forest remain in fourth place in the league table and look on course to maintain a promotion challenge this season.

The next instalment sees the Reds travel to the capital, and the referee in charge of Friday’s night’s clash at The Den will be John Brooks.

He will be assisted by Adam Crysell and Philip Dermott, while Trevor Kettle will have the fourth official duties.

This will be the fifth Forest match that Brooks has taken charge of, and the second this season with the first being a memorable one for Reds supporters.

Brooks was the man in the middle for Forest’s Carabao Cup second round victory over arch rivals Derby County in August, where the Reds claimed a 3-0 victory at the City Ground.

Last season saw Brooks referee three Forest matches, with two coming in the Championship – 3-3 draw with Norwich City on Boxing Day and the 2-0 win away to Middlesbrough last October, where he sent off Jack Robinson for a second bookable offence.

Brooks was also the referee for Forest’s 3-2 defeat to Burton Albion in the fourth round of last season’s Carabao Cup.
