Referee announced for Liverpool FC vs Manchester United fixture

Craig Pawson has been appointed as the referee for Manchester United's trip to face Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

United travel to Anfield on Sunday afternoon looking to build upon their convincing victory against Norwich the last time out in the league.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently fifth in the division and know another win is crucial in their fight to secure a top-four finish this season.

However, Jurgen Klopp's side remain unbeaten in the Premier League this campaign and have only dropped points once this campaign when they drew 1-1 with United at Old Trafford.

40-year-old Pawson will take charge of the weekend encounter at Anfield and will be assisted by Richard West and Scott Ledger for the match.

Jonathan Moss has been named as the fourth official while Paul Tierney will be the Video Assistant Referee and will himself by assisted by Andy Halliday.

Pawson has taken charge of 11 Premier League matches this season and has shown 46 yellow cards with his only red card having been issued to Issac Hayden during Newcastle's 5-0 loss at Leicester.
